Girls bedroom
When we first moved into this house we focused our attention on making the girls’ room feel welcoming and cosy to ensure they settled quickly. We decorated the room straight away and my dad built the girls’ new beds and furniture whilst we moved in. We live in a chalet bungalow so the rooms upstairs have a pitched roof (they would have been the attic if left as a bungalow). It’s a great large room but due to the slopped ceiling it can be restrictive on where furniture goes and bunk beds are not an option.
The girls loved it but I always wanted to come back to it to add some personal touches especially as it is a large room.
Lockdown has given us the opportunity to get round to doing little jobs like this (not as many as I thought I would have completed I should add, feeding 3 kids is a full time job in itself!)
I added a reading nook, some wall decals like we had in our old house, some decorations and a rug to break up the space and add a little interest and fun.
The girls absolutely love the space, they have been spending a lot more time in their room especially in the evenings; they love to cuddle up together with a book or their tablet and watch a movie after a busy day playing in the garden.
A few months back they asked if I would push their beds together as Annie was having bad dreams and ever since they haven’t wanted to put them back, I think it’s lovely. They could bicker all day but come night time they are the best of friends! Anything to stay up that bit longer.
I’ve added all the room details here but if I have missed anything just get in touch!
